Job Fair Goals

More Than Recruiting

On the other side of the recruiting table, not all employers are hiring at job fairs. In a recent poll, only 9% of the employers that we asked actively recruit for a large number of positions when they exhibit at a job fair.

Nearly half of the group (46%) said they attend jobs fairs mostly for public and community relations purposes. Another 31% of the group said that they collect resumes at job fairs primarily to store them for future openings, but don't hire anyone right away. And finally, 15% said they collect a lot of resumes, casting a wide net, but actually plan to recruit only a few people. Job fairs aren't just about filling jobs.
